News Hits: 50

The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II has called on Government to expedite action on the payment of judicial committee allowances to enable traditional authorities efficiently to adjudicate the rising number of chieftaincy disputes in the region.

According to him, the Bono Region continues to grapple with several pending cases, and delays in resolving them pose a threat to peace, social cohesion and the overall development agenda of the region. He emphasized that timely payment of the revised allowance is critical to ensure judicial committees’ function effectively and promptly attend to disputes that have long awaited determination.

The President also highlighted the developmental challenges faced by the region, noting that Bono has been deprived of key social amenities for years. He expressed optimism that the region’s well-crafted development blueprint, already shared with Government, will receive the needed attention to accelerate socio-economic growth.

He commended Government for the interventions rolled out in the past few months, particularly ongoing efforts to continue and complete existing projects initiated by previous administrations. He stressed that continuity is essential for progress and applauded the Ministry and its agencies for their renewed commitment to the region.

The President further praised Government for the introduction of the 24-Hour Model Market Initiative, describing it as a transformative policy that will excite women traders and youth groups. He noted that the initiative promises to boost local commerce, enhance convenience, and contribute to job creation across the region.
