KfW calls on Minister

The Minister for Local Government, Decentralisation and Rural Development, Hon. Dan Kweku Botwe received a three-member delegation from the German Development Cooperation (KfW).
The group, led by Arndt Wierheim, Director, KfW Office Ghana, KfW Development Bank came to introduce the Investment for Employment (IFE) facility.
The facility was part of the Special Initiative (SI) on Training and Job Creation. The German Government initiative would support German, European and African businesses and investors engaged in Africa to remove obstacles in investment in African partner countries.
It provides funding to public and private sectors to hindrances in investments.
The support which is to be launched on 1st April in the country would bring along long-term sustainable jobs.
The grant is a co-funding would have its website live where applications would be open for interested entities.
KfW would provide a 90 per cent investment cost for the public sector and 25 per cent to the private sector.
The funding is between one and ten million Euros.
The Hon. Minister noted that with the Local Economic Development at the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies the initiative would be supportive in the provision of jobs at the local level called on KfW .
